Detail Program/ Day 1
13:30 Pick up from your staying hotel in Siem Reap and transport by car or minivan to the port (around 30-40 minutes).
The boat will take you on the 1hr to 1hr 30mins journey to Prek Toal floating village, across the flooded forest and the great lake. On the way, your OSMOSE guide will explain you about the unique hydrological system, ecosystem of the lake and its flora and fauna.
16:00 On your arrival to the floating village, you will visit a home stay family who will share with you their lifestyle in the floating village (with the help from the guide). You will take time to rest in their home stay.
After, you will be given a Khmer cooking lesson. You will learn how to make different types of Khmer dishes under the supervision of women members of the Community Restaurant in the floating village.
17:30 You will take the time to appreciate the daily life on the lake and watch the magnificent sunset in the village. A typical diner will be served at the Community Restaurant before the boat takes you to the family who will accommodate you in their floating home.
Detail Program/ Day 2
7:30 Breakfast (can be earlier or later on request)
08:00 After breakfast, you will visit the environmental education class and the water hyacinth handicraft workshop, then, itï¿½s now for you the opportunity to spend time with the women of Saray Tonle ( the water hyacinth handicraft cooperative) learning how to weave your own souvenir of your trip! These sessions are important for the self-confidence of the weavers and they are also a unique chance for visitors to interact with community members (even with a common language!).
09:00 After weaving class, on board a traditional Khmer paddle boat, you will discover how the local community has adapted to their floating and ever changing environment: visit a family who live on a floating house to observe the local customs and talk with the host about the differences they face living on the water and then continue to visit the crocodile farms, fish farms, floating school, floating gardens: a unique opportunity to see a unique way of life.
After, you will visit to the Environmental Research Station where you will enjoy a panoramic view of the village.
12:00 Return to Siem Reap, back to your hotel around 12:30.

Thank you to wear decent clothes during the tour, to respect the local uses (long sleeved shirts and trousers is recommended but covering shoulder shirts and covering knee shorts is acceptable)

Osmose organizes tours following adapted safety regulations for its Visitors. During the round trip Siem Reap/Prek Toal and in the village, Osmose works with the community to ensure that the services provided to the Visitors achieve the highest possible level of safety and quality.
However, Osmose is not responsible for possible loss, damage and injuries in the course of the full tour.
Visitors are required to have full travel insurance. It is the responsibility of the Visitor to read their insurance policy before travel and ensure that the insurance scheme provides the Visitor with the required level of cover.
